Death of a Salesman

Soulpepper shows are my new favourite thing. (after food)

Over the weekend, my mom and aunt and I went to see Sarah's final show for this season at Soulpepper, Death of a Salesman.

and it was oh so good.
This might have been my favourite.

I was halfway to whistling with my fingers, but I was sick and would have coughed up a lung.  And the man in front of me was already hair challenged - he didn't need a lung in it, too.

Now for some more pleasant mental images:

We ate a lot (is that better?)
and went to an antique market
and met friends (Emily!) for dinner
and watched 'How to Make It in America' with our caramel popcorn

and then we ran and ran to get to the train station on time. (as usual)

I want to go back already!

a skype date with my sister

I finally got on the Skype bandwagon!

Sarah says to me: "Let's have a Skype date.  I'll call you in the late morning - around 3:30, k?"

So, yesterday in the late, late "morning", Sarah and I had tea together

...and one of us had chocolate

but it was not me.
(I knew I put off getting Skype for a reason.
you can't share food?!)

We talked about good shows to watch ('Girls' on HBO. go watch.) and had a show & tell of our new clothes.

So, other than the huge food sharing failure brought to my attention

I think I like Skype.
I guess it can stay.

and people wonder why I crack my knuckles all the time?
I practically have carpal tunnel.

These are some mobiles-to-be ('Jungle Elephants' & 'Dogs at Play') that I've been working on for Go Green Baby.
Natalie suggested that I come up with a design that we could sell for a bit less than the usual $150.
these mobiles will have one stick, three ornaments, two animals, one sided.

got that? :)

a picnic at the beach!

and by beach, I mean park.
there was water
and seagulls
but there was also slippery seaweed

and no sand.

On the long weekend, Maryanne had the great idea of packing a picnic lunch and spending the afternoon by the water.
We drove and drove to get there
(ie. we took a wrong turn somewhere and found ourselves at a fruit stand in a strip mall parking lot before we realized we'd gone too far!)

We ate our lunch on the grass by the water, then explored the old house on the property

we also put the swings to good use

and climbed some trees
...until I noticed the two huge spider-like bugs above my head and almost cried/fell out of the tree.

Spiders do that to me.
How original.
(these really were huge though. I think even a man might cry)

All in all, it was a lovely day with the best company and a Martha Stewart Halloween magazine to drool over.  As we flipped through the pages, we couldn't help but wonder, is Martha for real?

Clearly i need to work on my "spontaneous poses"
this is not ok.
